Regional Manager (Connecticut Non-Emergency Medical Transportation) for prospective business

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage a regional office for Veyo in Hartford, Connecticut, and serve as a trusted leader, providing oversight for all contracted transportation services for the Connecticut Department of Social Services (CT DSS) non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) program
  • Quickly earn the respect of the state, providers, staff and other stakeholders by being a point of contact who is directly available to CT DSS via phone and email and extremely responsive
  • Develop and manage an active transportation provider network including both third party and independent drivers that is qualified and responsive; visit transportation providers to ensure quality of service, compliance and proper capacity
  • Keep the State of Connecticut in the “know”; notify CT DSS of significant changes in services, benefits, geographic service areas, payments/enrollments of new populations, staffing or if you discover irregular activities that conflict with federal/state rules or regulations
  • Handle all fiscal obligations including startup costs and ongoing budget responsibilities; work with accounting and company leadership to align business model with profitability and analyze and optimize all revenue and expenses
  • Demonstrate excellence in the delivery of all necessary reporting, contract tasks and administrative requirements; schedule and perform periodic audits
  • Raise the bar for greatness by identifying and making improvements to staffing, equipment and supply utilization, service delivery and recovery, training and development, budgeting, structure and communication
  • Directly manage a staff of employees and communicate goals, guide team activities, develop employee skill sets, and deliver results
  • Anticipate and attack problems before they occur; never settle for satisfactory but always strive for extraordinary
  • Other duties as assigned 

Our ideal candidates will have some or all of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a leadership role; NEMT, NMT or similar program experience desirable
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence effectively in-person, via email, and over the phone
  • Be a role model at handling tough conversations with clients and internal business partners in a professional, solution-oriented manner; highly skilled at de-escalating emotions to drive logical resolution
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and solid ability to access and analyze client data and program performance
  • Comfort with a variety of online and mobile technologies
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to track numerous details
  • Flexible to accommodate changes in the business, strategy, and technology
  • Willing to travel 30% or more as needed
